Thick, pudding-like oats soften overnight with milk and mix-ins like cacao powder, chocolate protein and peanut butter! A delicious, satisfying breakfast, snack or dessert.
SERVING SIZE: 2small or 1 large bowl
1cupold fashioned rolled oats, I prefer gluten free like Bob's Red Mill
1 cup plain or vanilla flavored almond milk
2tbs.unsweetened peanut butter
2tbs. chocolate protein powder
1tbs.cacao powder, see note
1tbs.honey or agave
1tsp.vanilla extract*, only if using plain milk
mixed berries, bananas, chia seeds, more nut butter
Combine all ingredients in a jar with lid or tupperware. Set into refrigerator and let soften for at least 4 hours or overnight! When ready to serve, finish with optional toppings and serve cold or at room temperature.
These days you can find cacao powder in almost every grocery store, but note the spelling! Cocoa powder is heated when processed (dissolving many of the beans' nutrients).
