As a fellow parent (and, let’s be honest, a kid at heart sometimes!), I know how important it is to find ways to share our faith with our little ones. Children’s Christian books for kids are a great way to introduce young minds to the Bible, biblical truths, and the amazing stories of God’s love.

There are so many amazing books out there, and picking the right ones for your child can feel overwhelming. Fret no more! To help you navigate the wonderful world of Christian children’s books, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorites and recommendations from friends, categorized by age group and reading level.

This way, you can find books that are not only entertaining and engaging for your kids, but that also nurture their faith and introduce them to important biblical concepts. Likewise, a kid who loves animals might enjoy a story about Noah’s Ark, while a more scientific kiddo might appreciate a book about the wonders of God’s creation.
2. Think about your kid’s reading level. Don’t pick a book that’s too difficult for them. There are wonderful Bible story books available at every reading level, from board books for babies to chapter books for young readers.
3. Look for books with beautiful illustrations. Children are visual learners, and captivating illustrations can help draw them into the story and make the Bible come alive. Christian picture books are a great way to introduce young children to biblical truths and the stories of God.
4. Read reviews and recommendations. There are many websites and blogs dedicated to Christian children’s literature. Take some time to read reviews and recommendations to find books that are a good fit for your kid’s age, interests, and reading level.

Beyond Books: Exploring Faith with Children

While books are a wonderful way to introduce children to the Bible and Christian values, there are many other ways to explore faith with your kids. Here are a few ideas:

• Attend church services and Sunday school.  Church can be a great place for children to learn about the Bible, meet other Christian kids, and participate in fun activities. Sunday school teachers can be a great resource for parents looking for biblical resources and ways to teach their children about the good news of Jesus Christ.
• Volunteer together. Volunteering is a great way to teach children about the importance of helping others and putting their faith into action. There are many volunteer opportunities available that are a good fit for families with children, allowing them to live out God’s love in a practical way.
• Listen to Christian music. Many great Christian artists create music that is both entertaining and uplifting. Listening to Christian music together can be a fun way to share your faith as a family and explore different genres of Christian worship.
• Talk about your faith openly and honestly. Let them know that you are always open to talking about God, the Holy Spirit, and faith. Answer their questions honestly and share your own experiences with them, using the Bible or children’s stories as a springboard for discussions.
