Easy Tequila Espresso Martinis for a Crowd
This Reposado Tequila Espresso Martini is a delicious twist on the classic recipe and this batch cocktail recipe makes it easy to serve a large crowd. Coffee & tequila lovers, unite!
Why You’ll Love this Tequila Espresso Martini
Classic with a twist: So many know and love the classic recipe for an espresso martini that combines vodka, coffee liquor and fresh espresso — and it’s a staple for a reason! But I happen to think a tequila espresso martini is even MORE delicious. Using a rich and slightly sweet tequila like Socorro Reposado adds a caramel note that is delectable. Not to mention tequila is considered easier for our bodies to process with its low sugar content and natural sweetness. Coffee + tequila = the best way to kick off the evening!
Easy to make one or many: If you aren’t familiar with the “Espresso Martini Effect,” it’s essentially when one person orders an espresso martini, everyone in the group will follow! This recipe makes it simple to serve fresh Tequila Espresso Martinis to a crowd (up to 12 servings!) by batching them ahead of time and shaking over ice just before serving.
Perfect for coffee aficionados: The fresh espresso combined with coffee liquor gives this cocktail plenty of coffee flavor while the Reposado Tequila and Licor 43 gives a the drink a subtle, caramel sweetness.
Ingredients
Socorro Reposado Tequila – Reposado tequila has been aged in oak barrels and has a slightly sweeter, more caramel flavor that enhances the coffee-forward cocktail.
Licor 43 – Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur made from a secret recipe of 43 natural ingredients, including Mediterranean citrus fruits, herbs, and spices. The liqueur is aged in oak barrels and has a smooth, golden color with a complex flavor profile.
Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur – I am a big fan of Mr. Black’s coffee liqueur as it’s rich and slightly sweet, but if you have another brand on hand (like Kahlua) feel free to swap.
Fresh Espresso – I love the flavor of fresh espresso for this recipe but if you do not have an espresso machine, you can use the same amount of Owen’s Espresso Mix instead!

Serving
- Just like any espresso martini, this Tequila Espresso Martini is best served in a martini glass or coupe! I love these etched vintage-inspired glasses from Amazon.
- Did you know espresso martinis are traditionally topped with three espresso beans to represent health, wealth & happiness? Don’t forget to top yours with three coffee or espresso beans! It also makes for a nice presentation.
- I topped mine with a toasted marshmallow (roasted on a kebab skewer over the gas stove) for extra pizzaz 🙂
